ARTful Adventures in Mexico City Discover the City Through a Sketchbook

What if your next vacation became more than just a collection of photographs?

Imagine returning home with a sketchbook filled with colourful markets, colonial architecture, tree-lined plazas, delicious meals, friendly faces, and the memories you created with your own hands.

That is what an ARTful Adventure is all about.

This December 2026 and again in February 2027, I'm inviting a small group of artists and curious travellers to join me in one of the most inspiring cities in the world—Mexico City.

You don't need to be an experienced artist.

If you can hold a pencil and are willing to look a little closer at the world around you, I'll help you discover how enjoyable travel sketching can be.

During our adventure we'll wander through magnificent museums, vibrant markets, peaceful gardens, colourful neighbourhoods, and lively plazas. We'll enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine, learn from local culture, and pause often to sketch the moments that make each day unforgettable.

Rather than rushing from attraction to attraction, we'll slow down.

We'll notice the light filtering through historic streets.

We'll sketch fountains bubbling in shaded courtyards.

We'll paint flowers, architecture, cafés, musicians, monuments and everyday life.

Our sketchbooks become personal journals—filled with memories that are far more meaningful than a photo.

Along the way I'll share my experience for techniques in watercolor, pen and ink, creative lettering, and travel journaling. Beginners are warmly welcomed, while experienced artists will discover fresh ideas and new inspiration.

One of the highlights of our journey in December will be our hands-on Mexican cooking experience, where we'll prepare traditional dishes together before gathering around the table to enjoy the meal we've created.

We'll also visit world-class museums, historic neighbourhoods, artisan communities, and remarkable cultural sites that make Mexico City one of the world's great destinations for artists.

This isn't just an art class.

It's a creative holiday.

It's a chance to make new friends.

To slow down.

To see differently.

To fill your sketchbook with stories instead of souvenirs.
