Paint and brushes will be provided but you will need to bring along the paper.

one (two if you can) full sheets (22”x 30”) of 140lb, cold Press, 100% cotton, Watercolour paper... common brands are Arches, and Fabriano

Please precut your sheets into 4 or 8 pieces ... easier to handle and we only paint on small stuff anyhow!!!

These supplies can be purchased locally at the Qualicum Stationers, Opus in Victoria and Iron Oxide Nanaimo (when it reopens.)

If you would like to get your own supplies this is the suggested list.

bring what you have...

.... this isn’t about having the right colours or brushes it is about developing skills. If you do purchase something ... get ARTIST GRADE paints and paper! Brands that are artist grade are ... QOR, Daniel Smith, M Graham, Holbein, Windsor Newton.

WWW.DavinciPaints.com is the brand order and I use most often and I order it online.

The colors I have in the basic set are... but not necessarily the only ones ... just a suggestion

Vermillion

Alizarin Crimson

Arylyde yellow ( or Indian yellow or New Gamboge)

Hansa Yellow Light

Cerulean or Cobalt Blue

French Ultramarine Blue ( FUB)

Prussian Blue

Violet

Sap Green

And if you are a bit hesitant to go to the art store I do have a basic kit you can purchase for $70

(Let me know if you would like to go that way. )

Brushes I tend to use mostly Mop, quill or round brushes ... larger #12 round or larger than smaller. But you don’t need more than a couple brushes ...
