About the event
Everyone wants to paint but they say … I cannot even draw a stick figure.
Luckily there are very few sticks figures in Mexico!
Urban sketching is the practice of drawing the world around you, right where you are—cafés, streets, plazas, beaches, buildings, and everyday moments. Instead of working from photos or imagination, you sketch on location, capturing what you see and how it feels in that moment.
People love urban sketching because it slows you down and helps you truly notice your surroundings. You begin to see shapes, light, shadows, and little details you might normally pass by. It’s less about making a perfect drawing and more about telling a visual story—your story—of a place and time.
Urban sketching is also wonderfully freeing. You don’t need expensive materials or advanced skills—just a sketchbook, a pen or pencil, and curiosity. Mistakes become part of the charm, and loose, imperfect lines…
